From the AYHD Board

Work in Progress Seminar Series launching soon!

We are excited to be launching a quarterly seminar series for early-career historical demographers to share research ideas and work in progress in a friendly and informal setting. We are starting to put together the presentations for the first meeting in June and you can sign up to contribute to that or other dates throughout the coming year by filling out → this form! Stay tuned for more information about the first meeting, and get in touch with the board with any questions or suggestions!

AYHD AT EPC

AYHD board members Serena Vigezzi and Hampton Gaddy will be at the upcoming European Population Conference in Bologna (3-6 June) and are looking forward to connecting to early-career researchers there! AYHD will be represented at the EAPS PhD network event on Wednesday 3rd at 10:00 at the Belmeloro complex and at the EDSD party on Thursday June 4th, at Spiller from 19:30/20:00.

Spotlight Article

Every newsletter we will spotlight one article or working paper by a young historical demographer or researcher in an adjacent field. Would you like to have your work shared or do you know a recent paper that deserves to be spotlighted? Send an email to Joris (j.kok@qub.ac.uk) with information on the research you would like to see shared.

This newsletter, rather than spotlighting an individual article, we’d like to spotlight the Special Issue:

‘Chasing Moving Targets’

Published by The History of the Family marking the 30th anniversary of the journal, and in honour of Jan Kok (Radboud University). You can read the full issue here: https://www.tandfonline.com/toc/rhof20/31/2.
